Merion Publications Inc., publishers of ADVANCE Newsmagazines, is currently looking for a
Managing Editor/Editor to work on our bi-weekly
ADVANCE for Respiratory Care Practitioners publication.
ADVANCE for Respiratory Care Practitioners is the most widely read publication in the respiratory care arena providing a blend of breaking news, education trends, career advice, and other exciting features.
Responsibilities for this role include working closely with the editor in editing, production, and staff management. In addition this role includes a heavy emphasis on marketing and working with sales groups.
Additional responsibilities include:
Generating story ideas
Acting as a liaison between editorial and sales groups
Creating editorial opportunities that enhance sales efforts
Following and reacting to market trends
Conducting meetings
Placing and approving ad placement within editorial
Coordinating and carrying to completion special projects, such as product supplements and surveys
Attending and/or conducting editorial planning meetings
Full issue responsibility in editors absence
Overseeing staff members for various projects and assignments
Attending and covering major conferences each year
The ideal candidate will have a 4 yr degree in a journalism or related field, strong leadership skills, excellent verbal communications, and an interest in healthcare. At least 5 years experience in magazine production in a leadership role is required.
