My client, a stable, solid, 50 year Philadelphia company has the following full time position open.
VISUAL BASIC DEVELOPER - VISUAL STUDIO DEVELOPER 60-70K
Under the direction from the Applications Manager, this position is responsible for maintaining and developing Visual Basic and MSSQL programs in support of the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and other business requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Write and test Visual Basic Applications using Visual Studio 6, Visual Studio.Net, T-SQL, Active Server Pages, MS Access and MS SQL Server 2000.
Provide technical support and application modifications for the WMS in coordination with other resources.
Resolves any and all issues relating to errors that occurred while processing WMS transactions.
Participates in the development and implementation of department programs, systems, procedures and methods of operations.
Resolves the complex problems involving the WMS to include order processing and related electronic transmissions and inventory transactions.
Gathers and evaluates data; compiles a variety of reports and correspondence; and maintains recordkeeping system.
Implements programs and procedures aimed at improving electronic communication with customers and efficiency in IT.
Responds to Applications Manager as assigned with accurate and timely work/information to facilitate company needs.
Maintains professional affiliations to be well-informed of new developments, trends and techniques in the Visual Studio development and Warehouse Management fields.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 3-5 years Visual Basic / MS SQL application development experience.
Previous experience delivering outstanding application support required.
An Associates degree in IT, Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.
Formal training or education in Visual Studio (6.0 and .net) and MS SQL programming.
Experience in writing console applications using VB.Net
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft development tools:
Visual Studio 6 (Primarily VB 6.0)

Visual C++.Net and C#.Net a plus
MS SQL Server 2000
Stored Procedure Language
Database Administration
T-SQL (Transact)
MS SQL 2003 a plus
