Elevated Rails is looking for a Ruby on Rails Developer.



Who are we?



We're a small, geographically distributed consulting shop. Our primary focus is writing innovative software for exciting clients. We do basic web development, facebook development and even integration with the phone system and SMS. We've spoken at Rails Conf, The Rails Edge and other conferences. We're writing books about the technologies we use.



What will you do?



You will work from home with a bright and capable team on interesting projects. You'll start as a 1099 contractor. If things go well, we're hire you as a w-2 employee and pay you well.



What are we looking for?



Well, you've got to know Rails. Ideally you know it well enough to have had a patch committed into the rails core. It helps if you're test infected. We're using rspec and aiming for 100% code coverage on all projects so you're going to have to live TDD/BDD. We love beautiful code and hope you do too.



Some nice to haves:



Experience in a functional language is great. Deep knowledge of at least one other language is ideal. I mean, we're not going to be writing Ruby forever, are we? A college degree is preferred, but not a deal breaker. Since we're small, we wear a lot of hats. If you have a spare DBA, Sysadmin or even Project Manger hat laying around somewhere, we'd love for you to try it on from time to time.
